Woman's Club Of Bakersfield

The Woman's Club was established in 1896 with eighteen charter members. The goals were to encourage development of women's interests in literature, science and the arts. Addtionally, they sponsored milk and meat inspections in 1919. That same year, they also established the first night school for adults.
